2013 Great Wilderness Challenge – This is a 25 mile trail run. There are also shorter running and walking variations. It is amongst the mountains of Wester Ross in north west Scotland. I have done this a number of times but only ever written about it once.

2014 Lakes in a Day – This is a 50 mile mountain run from north to south through the Lake District in NW England. The 2014 race was the inaugural run.

2022 Cow Shed Backyard Ultra – The backyard ultra  is a form of ultramarathon race where competitors must consecutively run the distance of 6.706 kilometres (4.167 mi) in less than one hour, which is a pace of 100 miles per 24 hours. The race is over when only one runner remains to complete a lap. I didn’t do well and was disappointed with myself. Only one winner and everyone else gets a DNF (‘did not finish’) wooden spoon.
